Tour the new Meetup via video

Hi everyone,

Last week we posted screenshots and a description of the new features coming soon for Meetup. For those of you craving more detail, here are the features presented in video format. Each video takes you through the new features by showing real screenshots of the site, along with our voiceover descriptions. Click on the image to get to each video, which will pop up full-size in a new window.

Is there any way to learn anything about the new features without spending a bunch of minutes watching a video? Skimming text is so much faster ...

I've been a member of MeetUp.com since 2003 and have been promoting it ever since.

I think mayeI should add a MEETUP Channel to www.ThePrimeSpot.TV !

Love the new Amazon payments format. What about the ability to simply take donations to cover total group costs and not tie payments only to specific events?

Any chance the message boards could get a signature feature so we can keep up with members' blogs and photo albums and such?

Hi, I like the re-org of the website. As a photo taker for my groups in most cases, I'd like to suggest comments entries for each photo in the photo album. This way, members can view the photos, rave about the meetup and the specifics of it, to put a nice after-thoughts area for a specific meetup. Thanks!

Kelly,
If you want to simply accept donations, just add a paypal link somewhere.

Glad to see the changes. One suggestion I have is to promote Meetup in general through more video. I've noticed Google's universal search prefers videos for showing on page one of the regular search and Meetup could create videos for each meetup to build more visibilty.

I am a retired GM Engineer living in Michigan. I have time to travel.

To that end; I am traveling to California this summer and have found it difficult to navigate Meetup.com outside my own area.

Perhaps you could improve this feature.

Call it "Traveling Meetup." Or some such thing.

Very interesting ideas.
When will the new format become available?

Amazon Payments transaction fees PLUS Meetup fees for Amazon Payments transactions = BOTH INCREDIBLY HIGH -- TOGETHER WAY TOO MUCH

I definitely would like to see more blog and video type features as I have had to maintain a separate location on blogger for content that hasn't been easily presentable on Meetup.com up until this point.

It would be nice to not have to go external. At minimum, it would be better if YouTube, or other video services could be integrated well.

I'd love to see a personal calendar that auto. adds everything that you "yes" to from your subscribed groups & maybe see it as a link on my profile or acct. I do have a planner to keep track but it would be a nice feature to have & get a visual of our month of events.

I agree with Tiffany and have requested this before via email. It would be great to be able to print out a personalized calendar with all the events for all the groups I belong to.

I think there should be a way to rate the moderators so they can see how good of a job they are doing.

Previous layout was far much better.

I would have liked an rss feed to track new posts on a board, instead.

I would love to see other languages enabled so we can used native characters to list events. Non-romance based language groups need this ability to help encourage participation and make more use of their specific language.

I like the format. But PLEASE...my meetup (and I am sure others) really like the photo albums but they need work. We have sometimes 60-70 pics and it is so time consuming to upload the pics. Too many members of my group are simply not interested in using the meetup photo albums and so send out links to Flicker, etc. I want the photo albums to be on Meetup so members and non-members can see just how much fun we have at our monthly get togethers.
Please make the photo albums a priority on your next upgrade!

I realize we can contact meetup via e-mail, but could you also have a telephone number for customer support? Sometimes something critical comes up and you need an answer quickly. Also talking to someone on a telephone ends the often back and forth of e-mails.
