If there's one thing I really like, it's seeing successful Meetup Groups prospering abroad. That's why I was thrilled when I saw this article about Meetup in Metropolitan, Barcelona's Magazine in English.
Meetups are growing fast in the city of Gaudí. If you are interested in photography, you should definitely check out the Barcelona Photography Meetup.
If graphic and web design are your cup of tea, the
Barcelona Graphic + Web Design Meetup Group is where you'll find the right crowd of fellow designers to network and discuss the business in a mix of different languages.
Looking for a cool and cheap night out in historic Raval? The
Cinebar Barcelona Meetup organizes a movie night (either classic or cult) every other week.
As the article says, "Putting people together is what Meetup sets out to do, and judging by
the results in Barcelona they seem to be doing a pretty good job of it."
Greetings to all our friends in the Catalonian capital!

Hey Mercedes, Meetup seems to have a natural home here in Barcelona. I think the reason it works so well is because there's a lot of open minded individuals (both expats and locals) that want to mix with one and other, be it for languages reasons or culture. I run the movie meetup Cinebar, with a friend (who also runs the photography meetup, Barcelona Raw) and we get a real kick out of it.
Thanks to you guys for such a great website to organize through, we only ever get good and positive feedback!
Best
