Drive-in Movies... Open fields, moonlight reflecting on car windows, lousy audio, the feeling of shutting off the world and voluntarily enclosing yourself in a different reality.
But now you're in New York City and you don't own a car, you can't afford to shell out $12 bucks for a movie ticket, and the last time you found yourself in a wide open space was at the corner of Broadway and 42nd Street.
No matter: you can still relive that drive-in experience, as long as you're up for a New York twist. At least that's what the members of the Hell'z Kitchen 'Rooftop' Drive-In Movie Club are doing.
You can bring your own seat, your own beverage, and your own date! Check out this great photo from last month's Meetup -- a Bladerunner/Blues Brothers double feature:
Can you think of a better way to enjoy a warm summer night in NYC?

I grew up in Ohio, so I totally miss drive-ins. Thanks so much for blogging this, Camila! 3
