I’m an Organizer; why do I need to state my refund policy?
Meetup HQ wants to make it easy for Organizers to make it crystal clear
if and how they’ll issue refunds to their members. For this reason,
it’s required that Organizers enter their refund policies when setting
up Meetups.
I’m an Organizer; can I give my members refunds?
Yes,
with Amazon Payments, refunds are easy. Wherever you see "issue refund"
next to your member's name, simply click the link and follow the
prompts.
Please note that Meetup.com does NOT initiate refunds automatically. If you are an Organizer and cancel an event, you must manually initiate a refund. If you are a member and change your RSVP and would like a refund, please email your Organizer.
I’m an Organizer; how do I issue a refund?
If your member has paid with Amazon Payments, there are two ways to issue a refund:
1.
Go to the RSVP list for your Meetup. Find the name of the member you
want to refund, click "refund," and follow the prompts. That’s it!
2. Go to the Meetup transaction details page ("Account > Payments
Received > Name of your Meetup"). Find the member's name, then click
"refund," and follow the prompts. That’s it!
I’m an Organizer; how come sometimes a refund I issue goes through right away and other times it doesn't?

As the Organizer, it’s completely up to you.

Because
money is changing hands, Meetup HQ wants to make it simple for Organizers to clearly convey their refund policies to their members. So
that everyone is on the same page, members must accept their Organizers' policies.

First,
make sure you read your Organizer’s refund policy when you RSVP to
their Meetup. If you want a refund, simply email your Organizer. Be
sure to tell them which Meetup event you want a refund for.

Does Amazon and/or Meetup keep the fees when a refund is issued?
Both Amazon and Meetup refund everything. The entire amount – including all fees - gets refunded.
When a member gets refunded, where does the refund go?
All the money – including any fees – gets refunded by the original form of payment.
