GENERAL QUESTIONS
What is Meetup?
Meetup is the world's largest network of local groups. We make it easy
for anyone to organize or find a local group that meets up
face-to-face. More than 55,567 groups with 6 million members from
Meetup get together regularly in their local communities.
What are Sponsors?
Sponsors are businesses, brands, or other organizations that want to support local Meetup Groups.
What's a Meetup Sponsorship?
For Meetup Groups, a sponsorship is a great way to get support in lots
of different ways. For a Sponsor, it's a great way to engage with
passionate people who can become loyal to your business or brand.
What are most Meetup Groups looking for from a Sponsor?
Different groups have different needs. Generally, it's common for
groups to be looking for a place to meet, discounts on products or
services or help paying their monthly Meetup subscription fees. But
that is generally speaking. There are plenty of exceptions.
What does a Sponsor get out of sponsoring Meetup Groups?
Generally speaking, a sponsorship provides a business, organization or
brand with exposure to active, local members. And you get to support
local Meetup Groups in the process! Many Meetup Groups will place the
sponsor's logo on their Meetup Group's pages, and often a link to your
website if you have one. The specifics - you can work those out with
the organizer of the Meetup Group you're interested in sponsoring.
How does sponsoring a Meetup Group differ from traditional web advertising?
When you sponsor a Meetup Group you are supporting and getting access
to passionate, influential people who actually meet face-to-face in the
real world. That's a lot stronger and more impactful than an online ad.

SPECIFICS ABOUT SPONSORING A MEETUP GROUP
What do I need to do to sponsor a Meetup Group?
If you want to sponsor one or a handful of groups, the best thing to do
is find groups that are looking for sponsors by searching for groups
that look interesting to you. If you see a group with a "Sponsor Our
Meetup Group" button in the top right corner of their Meetup Group
pages, it means they're looking for a sponsor. Click on that button and
you'll be able to contact the organizer with your proposal. If the
organizer is interested, they'll reply and you can work out the exact
terms of your sponsorship. The more details you can provide in your
offer, the better.
If you have a budget and are looking to sponsor 50 more more groups, please use this form.
How much does it cost to sponsor a Meetup Group?
That depends entirely on what you work out with the organizer of the
Meetup Group. Some sponsorships won't cost a thing (but perhaps you
have a meeting place you can offer up to the Meetup Group). Some cost a
bit (perhaps you want to help out the Meetup Group by offsetting the
organizer's Meetup subscription fee.) It all depends on the specifics
of your unique sponsorship.
Do I need a contract to sponsor a Meetup Group?
Again, that depends entirely on what you work out with the organizr of the Meetup Group.
How can I host Meetup Groups at my venue?
The best way is to make that offer when you contact the organizer of
the Meetup Group (you can contact the organizer of the Meetup Group by
clicking on the "Sponsor our Meetup Group" button on a Meetup Group's
pages. Not all Meetup Groups will have that button, only those looking
for sponsors). The specifics of hosting a Meetup Group is something you
can work out with the organizer of the group.
I just want to sponsor one or a few groups - what do I do?
