Here's what you do:
Find a similar Meetup group
- Go to http://www.meetup.com/login/ and sign into your Meetup account
- Click on Find a Meetup, and you can browse Meetup groups by Cities or by Topics.
- Click some of those groups. Check them out. Definitely take a look at the Meetup groups with lots of members as they tend to be well established.
Check out their Past and Upcoming meetings
- Once you've found a similar Meetup, go to their Welcome page
- Scroll down until you see the Past Meetups section
- Click those Meetups
- Read the descriptions. This will give you an idea what other Meetup groups like yours are doing
Contact the Organizer for advice
While you can get ideas from simply reading what other Meetup groups are doing, you can get even more ideas by talking to the Organizers of those Meetup groups!
- Go to another Meetup's Welcome page
- Look over on the left. Under the Org's picture, you'll see a Email me link. Click it
- Send the Org a message and ask for some ideas.
