Meetup.com sends an automatic
announcement when you become the Organizer of a group that already has
members. It's a good idea, though, to send a personal introduction to
tell members about yourself. Why did you decide to organize the group?
Do you have any special plans for group events? Any suggestions you'd
like to get or share? You can invite them to contact you, and perhaps
to include a special message to members who haven't been to a Meetup in
a while.
Here's a sample introduction to get you started:
Dear Boggle Players,
I bit the bullet and signed up to organize the Anytown Boggle Meetup
Group so that we have a chance to get together. Seems like a great way
to meet new people.
I've been playing Boggle for a few years, but I'm no expert. I plan
to play for fun, not competitively, and I welcome people of all skill
levels to join me. To get us started, I'll bring along door prizes for
the best Boggle word and the silliest Boggle word!
So, if you joined a while ago but haven't been to a Meetup in a
while--or never made it--I can promise you that someone will be there
to welcome you at the next event. I'll be the tall, dark-haired guy
carrying a Boggle set!
And if you have suggestions on places to meet, times or days that
work better for you, or how you'd like to see the group develop, I'd
love to hear them. Just reply to this message, or click 'Contact
Organizer' on the group home page.

The next Meetup is on January 23rd at 7pm, at Keith's Coffee House at 223 Bond St. See you there!
