Group Settings
Group Settings is the motherload - it's your Meetup cockpit, where you'll do a lot of your Meetup organizing. Group Settings links to everything you need to run your Meetup group. To get there, sign in to your Meetup account, go to your Meetup group's Our Home page, and click the "Group Settings" link in the upper left corner.
What exactly can you do from Group Settings? Great question. You can:
Basic Info
Set up and control the nitty-gritty details of your Meetup group. Details like:
- Group name
- Headline
- Web address
- Group description
- Main photo
Your Members
Set up and control info about your Meetup group members
- What are members called?
- Custom profile questions
- Welcome message to new members
- New member notification
Topics
List your group under multiple topics. This helps define your group better and makes it appear on more sections of the Meetup site.
Privacy
- Make Meetup Group pages private
- How can new members join?
- Who can create new About Us pages?
Appearance
Change the look and feel of your Meetup Group pages.
Your Places
- Edit the details of the venues you use for events
- Add new venues to your list
Manage Custom Domains
Set up your own domain and allow members to browse your group's pages as though they existed on your own website.
Optional Features
Cool things you can do if they make sense for your kind of Meetup group. You can:
- Control automatic Meetup scheduling
- Customize "What's new?" updates
- Mailing list options
- Message board options
