Check out your Meetup Group’s new view!

To help you succeed, we’ve redesigned Meetup Groups to make it easier for members and non-members to see what’s happening inside Meetup Groups. Non-members will have an easier time finding the right groups for them. More active and engaged members are more likely to participate, RSVP and attend Meetups.

Today we are releasing a preview of a new design for your Meetup Groups and group home pages. The preview will last for a few weeks at which point the ‘New view’ will become permanent for all Meetup Groups.

Please note the content of private groups is still private. We are not showing anything new to non-members looking at private groups.

Our mission at Meetup HQ is to see Meetups everywhere about everything. We want your Meetup Groups to be successful and have members be active and attending Meetups just as much as you do.

1. Moved the group navigation
We’ve made it easier for people to get to the other sections of your Meetup Group by putting the group links across the top of the page.

2. Organizer controls are now under “Group Tools”
Organizers and Assistants have all of their links (Schedule a Meetup, Email Members, Group Settings, etc..) contained under a drop down button called “Group Tools”.

3. New Group information box
We’ve created a new section containing all of your Meetup Group’s info that will show up on EVERY page of your group. Members can also pay and get more information about dues from this section.

4. New Module manager
In the New view you can add/remove modules from your Meetup Group’s home page! For starters, we’ve created a Recent Photos and Video module. Both help to show people what your group and Meetups are like. Stay tuned for more modules!

5. Prospective members get full Group description and “What members are saying”, while existing members have it collapsed
Prospective members will ALWAYS see the FULL group description and ‘What members are saying.’ Once someone joins a Meetup Group, this section is automatically collapsed, bringing the Meetup module and latest activity higher up on the page.

6. Enhanced Latest activity feed

The new Latest activity module lets people know what’s happening with your Meetup Group. You can customize what appears in the feed. By showing all of the activity, more people will get involved, engaged and attend more Meetups!

7. New Meetup module
Got a great Meetup coming up? Now you can feature any Meetup to display at the top of the new Meetup Module. You can also customize the module to select how many upcoming Meetups you want to show.

8. New Recent photos module
Use the Recent Photos module to show off the great photos from your Meetups. You can also customize it to highlight a specific photo album.

9. New Video module
Show people what your group and Meetups are like with the new Video module

10. Customize every module
Organizers can customize every module on the New view. Simply click the gray box and select “Change settings”

Once again, please keep in mind the New view/Old view preview will only last for a few weeks. After that, the “New view” will become permanent for all Meetup Groups.
