Snapup = photos on the go!

Love to take photos at your Meetups? Now you can add them to your album directly from your iPhone.  We’re happy to announce that Meetup’s first iPhone application Snapup for iPhone is now available in the Apple Application Store.

Follow this link to download Snapup for iPhone directly from the Apple App store. Once installed run the app and login in to meetup.com. You will see a list of your upcoming and recent Meetups. Now just tap on the Meetup you want to add a photo for, tell your subjects to smile, snap your photo, add a caption and you’re done! Super easy and fun!

This app is a glimpse of our iPhone plans. We’re working on a full featured app which will allow you to do things like RSVP, get directions, view the RSVP list, take photos and discuss the Meetup.

Snapup uses Meetup’s API, which allows anyone in the community to build great Meetup-related apps for mobile or the web. A list of apps is available in the Meetup Application Directory. To assist developers we’re releasing the source code for Snapup into the open source community and have made the code available via GitHub.

Thanks and Happy Snapping,
Mike D, Ivy, Rich, Nathan and Wayne
