We are a group of stay at home moms that need friends who live locally for our children and us moms! We focus on building long-lasting friendships and on age-specific playgroups that meet weekly with committed members.

We have about ten active playgroups that meet weekly—in addition, we post monthly moms night outs, weekly park outings, kids-free coffee morning outings and excursions for the whole family. Many Organizers have specific start and end times for their Meetups. Now you can set end times and durations in the details for your Meetup, so members can see how long it will last.

New feature: Your Meetup in your language

We’re excited to announce that you and other Meetup members and Organizers can now communicate with each other on the Meetup site in whatever language you choose.

Meetup’s 10 million members represent an astounding array of cultures, but until today, you could only type in a limited number of languages and alphabets. Japanese, Russian, Arabic, Hindi—we now support just about any alphabet.

Making Meetups more accessible to more people is what this is all about, but we think it will make things more beautiful too.

David R, Organizer of Calgary Do Something New (DSN) Meetup Group: Send an email to all members asking for a photo of some sort. Tell them why: having four “Davids” without photos can be confusing—but four different pics makes it much easier for you to find, meet, and remember who is who at events.

Matt W, Organizer of Decatur Gamers: Take your digital camera/PC or smartphone to a Meetup and help people get a photo onto their account.

Norman, Organizer of Greater Boston Photography: I will browse through the membership at least once a month. If I run across one without a photo, I then shoot them a note stating that they currently do not have a photo posted as required, although they did have one upon joining. They must correct this issue by a certain time, or they risk being removed from the membership roster.
