Snazzy & Informative Meetup Homepages -- Keep Interest Alive!

Want your site to be a great advertisement for your Meetup Group?

Here are some excellent ways to define your Meetup's mission statement, showcase your activities and set expectations for new members:

*Make your homepage stand out!  Change up your banner, Meetup Group photo or description monthly to feature holidays, fun themes or upcoming activities.

*Fill your homepage with information that not only explains what your Meetup Group's about, but also that demonstrates what's happening within your Meetup Group. Use pictures and logos in the sponsor box to advertise upcoming events, a question of the week, polls...or feature a weekly newsletter. Fun features on your homepage will catch the attention of potential members, and help keep your current members active and informed.

Making your homepage as informative as possible attracts the kinds of members you want, and helps you set expectations as Organizer. It also demonstrates how much you care about your Meetup Group!

Weekly newsletters promote your activities, encourage members to RSVP, and will bring members back to the site more often.

Adventures of Fun Friends' tricked out Meetup banner

Ali of Libertyville, Illinois' Adventures of Fun Friends Meetup Group recently shared her super awesome customized banner with us over on the Organizers' Forum.

Each week, she updates the banner with upcoming Meetups in a calendar-style header at the top of her Meetup Group.

If you don't have Ali's skills as a graphic artist, why not check in with your members about making a new custom banner for your Meetup Group? Who knows, maybe one of them has some hidden Photoshop talents they'd be willing to share!

Find the Hidden Theme!

Hello Meetuppers!

After Tammy's great post about some of the awesome themes ya'll have come up with, we (the team who designed the Meetup Themes feature) decided to reconvene and offer up a contest!

We've created a TOP-SECRET-EASTER-EGG-ONE-RING theme that can be found in the 'Pick a Theme' section of your group's Appearance page.

Once you find this hidden gem of a theme, apply it to your group and leave a comment with a link to your group home page in the comments. The first person to do it will receive a Meetup goodies gift bag, right to your doorstep!

Bored and hungry? Participating in this contest will definitely cure your boredom. It will, however, do nothing for your hunger. You should probably eat something instead.
