Last year, folks from HQ's Community, Development, Leadership and
Strategy Teams traveled to 13 cities in one week to visit with
Organizers around the country.
We went to hear your stories, share insights --
and because we wanted to listen to how you think we're doing in person. It
was fantastic!
As most of you know, we regularly send out email surveys to collect
feedback from members and Organizers through the site. We also
participate in the sitewide message board forums, read and respond to
your emails (every one!), and talk through how things are going on the
phone. But there's something truly special about meeting the people who
make it happen face to face.
That's you, me and us -- and it's happening this Sunday and Monday night
in
Los Angeles,
Portland,
Raleigh-Durham,
Houston,
Las Vegas and
New
York City.
Last year we gathered insight and challenged Organizers to find
innovative ways to self-organize and promote their Meetup Groups in
their cities. There were some amazing results. Organizers developed long-lasting connections, and
continue to innovate on how to improve their Meetup experiences today.
Successful Organizer Meetups were one of the most amazing outcomes from
the tour last year.
So this year we're sponsoring Meetups for a few of the best and
brightest of our Organizer Meetups from around the country. There are
many more -- we just couldn't hit them all this year. If we're not heading to your city, take heart! We'll
get there as soon as we can.
In the meantime, if you haven't joined or started an Organizer Meetup in
your neighborhood, why not? It's a fantastic local resource for how to
run a successful Meetup Group.
Plus, Meetup Organizers are good
people. Maybe we'll drop in to see you sometime, too!
We're thrilled to be embarking on this tour for the second year in a
row, and can't wait to see everyone.
Stay tuned for reports from the road!
